The Shack

WOW. For me, this book propelled me to finally forgive my brother Chris. I didn't have a peaceful growing up, and I harbored terrible feelings for years. When I was going through One on One with the girls, I felt God urging me to share this with them, but I was not ready.

After visiting my in-laws in Arlington while running from Hurricane Ike, much healing took place after I poured my heart out to Mum and Dad Tooley. Before we left, Dad gave me his copy of The Shack. He wasn't even done reading it! He knew I needed it. It ended up giving me a whole new view of God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. And I forgave my brother. I even ended up sending him a copy.

One on One with God

What the One on One training did for me:

It instilled a deep desire in me to get to know Jesus in a more personal way. On most days, I get up very early and read my Bible and work on some of my current Bible study by Angela Thomas. Starting off my day in the Word of God has transformed my life and armed me. I have more joy and peace. I am getting much better at handling bumps in the road and disappointments. I have let go of some major pain that I had been hanging on to. I now truly want to live the life that God has planned for me.

The next step for me is to pass this wonderful tool onto other women, to disciple them and teach them to become disciple-makers in return. I plan to start my own group within the next month or two. I am excited to share this life-changing study with others! Stay tuned...

Welcome to my new blog!

God has been working on me SO much lately that I wanted to honor and glorify Him by sharing.

I have to start somewhere so... I will backtrack a few months to where some real change started to take place. I am so thankful that God has patiently waited on me and that he thinks so much of me that he would put so many wonderful, faithful and fun people in my life.

This summer, I took part in an incredible, intimate Bible program called One on One with God. The authors are Jerry & Marilyn Fine. Their awesome son, Pastor Don Fine heads up Bay Area Fellowship's fantastic children's ministry. Don's wife, the fabulous Daphne, began sharing the program.

Our group met every Friday morning at my sweet friend Alisa's home. Al is a truly gifted gal that God placed in my life a couple of years ago. She is giving and warm and has an honest heart for Jesus. It is 5:30 am right now and I feel led to head out of my office and go read some of the Word. I am gearing up to pass One on One with God to a new group of women.
